The D-Link 10G SFP+ Module Series are hot-swappable transceivers that plug into SFP+ ports on switches and provide 10Gb/s Ethernet networks. D-Link's 10G SFP+ Module Series transceivers offer users extensive connectivity to 10 Gigabit Ethernet networks and are designed for data centers, premises, switching equipment, and telecom service providers. Enhanced Small Form-factor Pluggable Format The transceivers use the enhanced Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP+) format. The SFP+ form factor is smaller than other form factors such as Xenpak, X2, and 10G XFP and offers low overhead, low power dissipation, and high port density. The transceivers provide the necessary signal amplification to transmit data from the port to the network cable, and vice versa, to receive data by the port from the network cable. Hot Plugging All D-Link transceivers support hot plugging. Connecting the transceiver to a powered device will not cause any problems. This allows you to connect or disconnect transceivers without interrupting the rest of the network. 10 Gb/s Speed The transceivers are designed to operate on 10 Gb Ethernet networks, allowing for very fast data transfer. A tenfold increase over 1 Gbps allows the switch to process data streams faster and in greater volume.
