DMC-920T and DMC-920R media converters convert twisted-pair-single-mode optical cable over single fiber interfaces for 10/100BASE-TX and 100BASE-FX Ethernet networks. The DMC-920T and DMC-920R devices allow you to simultaneously transmit and receive signals at wavelengths of 1310 nm and 1550 nm over a single optical fiber over a distance of up to 20 km. Media converters DMC-920T and DMC-920R are installed at different ends of the communication line. The DMC-920R media converter uses a wavelength of 1550 nm for receiving data and 1310 nm for transmitting. And the DMC-920T uses 1310nm for receiving data and 1550nm for transmitting. Also, the DMC-920T media converter can be paired with a DES-1008FR/PRO switch. Each media converter is housed in a rugged metal case and is equipped with 1 RJ-45 twisted pair port and 1 optical cable port (SC connector) and can be used as a stand-alone device or installed in a universal 16-slot media converter chassis - DMC-1000. The media converters are hot-pluggable when used as part of a chassis. The DMC-920T and DMC-920R support control functions such as LLCF (Link Loss Carry Forward, Link Pass Through) and LLR (Link Loss Return) for the FX port. When the DMC-920T and DMC-920R are installed in the DMC-1000 chassis, its dedicated management module (DMC-1002) monitors the link status, operation mode, baud rate, and received and transmitted packet counters for both media via SNMP. This module also allows you to set the operating mode, baud rate, enable and disable the LLCF and LLR functions for each physical medium.
